Inspiration

Skovsona is inspired by my mother’s breast cancer journey. During chemotherapy, she experienced skin deterioration and became most self conscious of her hands - an area that was hard to cover. This highlighted for me how important the presentation of certain body areas can be for our confidence.

Mission

I want to encourage women to support specific body skin early - in a natural, non-invasive way. This includes hands, elbows, knees, neck and more. These areas are visible, particularly prone to aging/environmental damage and require unique care.

Giving Back

1% percent of all proceeds are donated to After Breast Cancer.

Ethos

My brand ethos is reflected in the name. Skov is a Nordic word meaning ‘forest’, a reminder to harness the power of botanicals. It’s also a nod to Nordic minimalism - a way of life and aesthetic that has had a significant positive impact on my life.

Sona is a Punjabi/Sanskrit word meaning beauty, gold & abundance. It pays homage to my Punjabi heritage and connects to my mission of making body skin youthful and radiant through the use of active botanicals.

Product Philosophy

All Skovsona products are performance driven, clean, vegan and made with active botanicals in Toronto. I work with Canadian chemists to formulate the products with specific ingredients, textures, absorption and sensorial experiences so that each area is treated effectively and given the unique care it deserves.
